The NETYOUTH Erasmus Project uses youth communication tools to bridge the communication gap between young Europeans and local entities. Using social media and creative communication channels, NETYOUTH empowers young people and aligns their engagement with European values. Understanding how young people communicate and the content they share is crucial. Social networks significantly influence their communication styles, and, in turn, their messages echo their values. Therefore, NETYOUTH strategically employs youth communication tools to engage young people effectively with European values.
The EU Project NETYOUTH is one of the Erasmus projects that L4Y Learning For Youth GmbH is developing. You can take a look at other projects here. L4Y coordinates this Erasmus Project in collaboration with Universidad de Sevilla (Spain), Innetica (Spain), and Creator European Consultants S.R.L (Romania).

Youth Communication Tools: Objectives
The main goal of the NETYOUTH Erasmus Project is to bridge the communication gap between young Europeans and local entities. Using social media and creative communication channels, NETYOUTH aims to empower young people and connect them with European values. Moreover, this involves understanding how young people communicate and what they talk about. Social networks powerfully shape their communication style, and consequently, their messages reflect their values. Therefore, NETYOUTH finds the best ways to engage young people with European values.
Activities
First, a dossier of good practices will be created. This dossier will include suitable message types and recommended social networks for policymakers. The primary goal is to promote Europeanisation among young people and increase their social participation.
Additionally, the project includes a training course for representatives of local institutions. This course promotes youth participation in local social networks and reinforces European values. Through this training, local representatives will learn practical ways to engage with youth and encourage their involvement in community activities and European initiatives.
Results
The results of the project include the following:
- Firstly, A Guidebook for local authorities on how to encourage young people’s participation in their social networks is also available. In addition to English, the guidebook is also available in Spanish, German, and Romanian.
- Secondly, Training for representatives of local institutions will promote young people’s participation in the social networks of local entities and reinforce European values.
- Lastly, the implementation of three local workshops (one in each partner country) by the partners in their countries for stakeholders to promote the project results.
Youth Communication Tools: Conclusion
In conclusion, the NETYOUTH Erasmus Project bridges the communication gap between young Europeans and local entities by using modern communication tools. Hence, through social media, training, and workshops, the project empowers youth to engage more deeply with European values and enhances their participation in local and European initiatives.
